Roxanne Holly Padley is originally from the UK and holds dual British-Italian citizenship. She is currently Tenure-track Assistant Professor in English Language, Translation and Linguistics at the Pegaso Digital University and she was previously Research Fellow at the University of Bergamo. She is also institutional translator and conference interpreter. She holds a PhD in English linguistics specialising in healthcare communication, applied linguistics and corpus linguistic methodologies and she is also visiting professor of English for Academic Purposes at the University of Oxford. Her research interests include English for specific purposes (scientific-medical English), healthcare communication, corpus-based discourse analysis and English language teaching with new technologies.
She has published and presented widely on an international level on all of these topics and some of her recent publications of note include a chapter in The Routledge Handbook of Discourse and Disinformation (2023), two class A journal articles in Textus (2024), one in mediAzioni (2024) and a forthcoming (2025) monograph (Peter Lang) entitled Applying Linguistics to Healthcare Communication and Interaction through Corpus Based Analysis: The Case of Cosmetic Surgery Discourses.
