Andrea Pranno è Ricercatore a tempo determinato in Tenure Track (RTT) presso l’Università Telematica Pegaso. Ha conseguito il Dottorato di Ricerca in Scienza e Ingegneria dell’Ambiente, delle Costruzioni e dell’Energia nel 2020, presso l'Università della Calabria (Rende, CS) con una ricerca incentrata sull’analisi di fenomeni non lineari in materiali eterogenei mediante tecniche di omogeneizzazione multiscala.
La sua attività di ricerca si focalizza su tematiche avanzate come l’analisi di instabilità macroscopiche e microscopiche in materiali compositi, lo sviluppo di modelli multiscala per materiali bioispirati, i fenomeni di danneggiamento i materiali fragili e quasi-fragili e lo studio delle proprietà dinamiche e di band-gap per il controllo delle vibrazioni.
Collabora con istituzioni accademiche internazionali, tra cui il Mechanical Engineering Department dell’Università del Wisconsin-Madison (USA) e la School of Engineering dell’Università di Limerick (Irlanda).
È autore di numerose pubblicazioni scientifiche su riviste internazionali indicizzate e partecipa attivamente a convegni nazionali e internazionali come relatore. È attivo anche come revisore per riviste di alto impatto nel settore della meccanica e dell’ingegneria dei materiali.
